"Dear Barry and Mary,
My deepest condolences to you and your family. I had so much fun dancing with Summer at the New Year’s Eve party. I am happy she was there to share in our very first New Year’s celebration.
Just this week I have been struggling to name my favorite out-of-bounds skiing area at Tamarack. This remarkable ridge, with southern exposure, is full of light. From the top of the ridge, you feel like you’re on top of the world, for this is one of the only places from which you can see the lake below in its entirety.
Skiing there is an amazing experience because on the way down you alternate between skiing the southern side and the northern side, both aspects with beautiful, but very different views.
I have now found the perfect name for this special place: Summer Skye Ridge
I n the next few years, as we expand our chairlift system, all levels of skiers will be able to experience the dramatic beauty of Summer Skye Ridge.
Most sincerely,
Jean-Pierre"

Her last email

Dearest ones,
My little darling is gone.  Please surround Summer in your love and prayers. She needs to rest in peace and in comfort.  The wind has been howling here in Marin all afternoon and tonight.  She is so present, she is wild and free.  I’m not sure if this wind is from the Dakotas or Hood River , both important in Summer’s growth,
She was so intentional in her life and she died peacefully looking at Mt. Adams and the Columbia River Gorge…surrounded by her loving community of dear friends.  I am happy to know that her dear friend Laurent was her tender guide and the messenger to our family.  God is so gracious.

Summer’s Coming!
(a happy birthday card tale)

One morning clear
In the month called
June
The Sun bright appeared
And said, “Hi”
To the Moon.
Their small morning talk
(sun dew and
starry
night)
was of Summer’s
Birthday Party!
Was of Joy
and
Delight!!

“At last! Summer’s Coming!”
“You mean,
Today is the
Day?!”
“Yes!
a friend
will
be
born
with whom
we can
Play!”

   So
the Skye and
the Sun
Kissed the
Stars
and the
Moon,

And….together they danced
On the twelfth day of June!

Happy
Happy Birthday,
Summer Skye,
Dancing Queen!

i love you!
